Transformation

Over the last three months Cam has been working out with me five days a week. Before I talk to you about his transformation, I want to point out that he has suffered, sacrificed and bought into the system, and he is now a personal trainer here at Pat’s Gym.

During the last three months, Cam dropped 8 percent body fat, gained six pounds of muscles, went from deadlifting 145 lbs to 255 lbs and overhead squatting 95 lbs to 165 lbs, as well as gained the ability to squat his bodyweight at least 10 times and do 100 pull-ups in less than 10 min. On top of the increased physical strength and looking fit he has developed mental toughness.

Cam trained in power, strength, endurance, mental toughness, relative strength, power endurance and perhaps the most important, concept recovery. To train hard five days a week, you need proper recovery and nutrition. I always say that there is no such thing as over training, only under eating and under recovering.

To become a trainer, Cam had to learn personal integrity and commitment so he could practice what he preached. At Pat’s Gym you need to live it and make it a lifestyle, not just a fad or 90 day challenge. Surround yourself with people who have high standards and work ethics and you’ll raise your expectations of yourself.

Below is a paragraph from Cam describing his experiences and thoughts:

“Prior to training at Pat’s Gym, I felt I had a pretty strong grasp on what it took to reach my full athletic potential. Upon recently completing a three-month training period with Pat, I now realize that my old fitness philosophy and self-expectations were completely limiting, misguided, and nonfunctional.

For me, the most challenging aspect of this new training style was developing mental toughness. For this to happen, the training was super intense (and sometimes painful!) with the threat of failure constantly present.

In order for me to really learn, I had to give 100% effort every single workout, many of which would inevitably end with me on the floor searching for oxygen. It was a very humbling experience to go from 8 years of training inside my comfort zone as a master of my own realm, to being thrust into Pat’s Gym, where 15 minutes of training could feel like I had never exercised a day in my life!

This drastic change allowed me to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. Pat’s Gym was not only about training hard to reach one’s goals, but also about proper nutrition and recovery – an overall lifestyle change”.
