Pat’s Gym Holiday Coat Drive – Bring your hats, gloves, and coats and donate them for needy families

From December 6th through December 24th, Pat’s Gym will be collecting old coats, gloves, and hats that have a second life in them. There are a lot of needy families in Dane County who can definitely enjoy your coats, gloves, and hats that you don’t need any longer. Pat’s Gym did this two years ago, and the response was overwhelming. Come workout, get a good workout and help a family stay warm for the winter. It’s a great way to share with others in Dane County during the holiday season.

Our Athlete of the Month – Katie won the Concept2 World SkiErg 1000m Competition.

I have been training with Pat Gilles with Online Coaching for about 15 months. I have never regretted a moment of it. It has helped me come back from a broken leg. I broke my leg playing football. After the leg was healed, I was out of shape. I was struggling physically and emotionally. I didn’t know where to start in terms of getting my strength and fitness back while rehabbing from the injury. So, when I started at Pat’s Gym, I was really just wanting to rebuild a solid foundation – rebuilding my strength and mobility and starting to even out imbalances. After 15 months of Online Coaching, I’ve become a much more well-rounded athlete, and have been happier and more productive in my day-to-day life. Read more

The November Monthly Challenge – Each year, Pat’s Gym participates in the Concept2 World Competition SkiErg for the 1000m race for the best time. This year, as in similar years we’ve had our athletes place extremely well. We even had the top individual overall as well as set a World Record. This year, Katie won in her age group with a time of 3:28.3 and set a new World Record. Great job Katie! Also, Pat’s Gym had 13 women in the top 10% of the 880 women who participated in the event. Pat’s Gym also had 6 men in the top 10% of the 1272 men who participated in this event. We are so happy with the showing of the Pat’s Gym athletes. No other gym had such a strong showing. As Concept2 said “that is a pretty amazing showing! Congratulations!!!”

At Pat’s Gym for the month of November the Monthly Challenge consists of 1000m on the SkiErg, and the athlete with the best time wins. This year the winners are Katie Hurtis with a time of 3:28.3, and Dan Jagla with a time of 3:11. Good job!
