Pat Gilles talks about how to use your stress to effectively motivate you instead of negatively impacting your performance.

dsc06225The last Monday of each month, Pat Gilles will be presenting seminars on various fitness related topics. Pat will address the 4 pillars that make up his fitness philosophy. This month’s seminar took place on September 24, and dealt with stress management and mental toughness. All the seminar will provide a fitness based information to the athletes, and then there will be a gym session where the information can be applied in a practical setting.

Last Monday, Pat talked about mental toughness and stress. He discuss how you can apply this technique of mental toughness in the gym, and in instances at home or at work. After teaching the athletes how to apply stress to your workouts, Pat put the athletes through a mental toughness workout. One of the things the athletes did, was a 500m all out ski effort. Pat helped the athletes how to mentally prepare for this test, how to deal with stress before, during, and after to be motivational and not debilitating. Pat was very proud of everyone who attended this month’s seminar and Pat already is excited about the next one.
