I wanted a compound exercise that would work my back, core, forearms, biceps, shoulders and legs. I realized a ground to shoulder movement would do that. However, I wanted to add breathing to the mix, so I added in burpees.
With the ground to shoulder movement, I didn’t want to use a sandbag. I wanted an exercise that I would have to squat low to the ground to get it up and over my shoulder. I, therefore, selected a medicine ball. Of course, in this case my appetite was too big to start with. I ended up getting a 150# ball. I realized I needed to start with a 100# mb and progress to a 125#. With persistence and dedication the 150# became possible on my Birthday Challenge.
I love it.
