I always mix up my workouts and add diversity. Your body adapts fairly quickly to new movements, so it’s great to always be experimenting with new workouts; I’ll always be a student. I get very excited about new exercises, and new programming.
I recently started to experiment with the mace. It is important as a trainer to remain always a student. I am constantly trying new things and learning new ways to workout and challenge myself. I am constantly searching for better ways to do things, for different approaches and to maximize my usefulness for my athletes. I think it is important to get uncomfortable. It is possible to become used to the “uncomfortableness” we cause ourselves grinding on the rower or in a workout that we designed, it is another thing to expose yourself to something new.
The mace definitely exposed weaknesses and is a challenge. Stay tuned for more exercises and workouts with the mace as I continue my journey with it. This is a great workout that I recently tried, incorporating the mace. You should try it, and let me know what you think.
