Creating habits

creating healthyWe are all given tools to use and it is up to the individual on how to use those tools. Habits are no different. They’re a tool that can compound or reverse your efforts. Each decision you make has a consequence and directly effects how you shape yourself.

You need to create habits that shape you to be the person you want to be. Tiny changes will bring you closer to a goal. They make a difference and each step is one closer or further away from your journey.

People get caught up in excuses and that becomes habit. Quitting when things get hard becomes a habit. The best advice I can give you is to take action. Each day when you wake up, figure out what you can do to take you closer to your objective. When you no longer have to think about what you need to do, you can do it more often without thinking. It becomes a habit and simple. Like a morning routine of 20 push-ups and 20 squats. Make it easy and quick and start small. The key is to make your first action a step in the right direction. You already have a win and it sets you up for more success throughout the day. That great start can lead to a healthy breakfast, which can lead to drinking more water throughout the day and that leads to passing on that dessert at lunch. Build momentum and the healthy way become automatic.

So instead of wishing for something, take action to become that person you want to be. One small step and habit at a time. It took you awhile to become the person you are today, so it will take awhile to change. Be realistic and know it will take time otherwise you will set yourself up for failure.

I know it can sound scary but it is possible. The key is make it priority and don’t wait until tomorrow to start. Start today!
