Dreading going out to eat? Don’t like the unpredictability? Try these tips!

When people go out to eat, they generally think that they can’t control what they eat or how much they eat. This post will provide a few tips that will help you survive going out to a party or for a meal.

Tip # 1: If you’re going out to a restaurant, look at the menu before you go to the restaurant. Figure out what you’re going to eat before you walk into the restaurant. Some restaurants, in addition to listing all food items, will also list nutritional value of the items and calories. So, do your research, before you walk in the door.

Tip # 2: If you’re at a party or at a restaurant, and the food is coming late and you’re famished, then eat something with good fats. Eating a handful of nuts or some cheese before you start your main meal will help. Eating healthy fats as you wait for your main meal, will make you feel full so that when the main meal does come you won’t overeat.

Tip# 3: Drink a ton of water while you’re waiting for your main meal. The water will help fill you up so that when your main meal comes, you won’t over eat due to being famished.

Tip # 4: Eat veggies as appetizers instead of other items. They will help fill you up, with good carbs instead of anything having bread or other bad carbs. Avoid the bread at the start of your meal at all cost.

Tip #5: Stay away from alcohol if you can. With alcohol, generally, your will power will be gone and you will make unhealthy choices. However, if you’re going to drink make sure you space it out. For every glass of alcohol you consume, make sure you drink two glasses of water.

I hope these tips help. Remember that proper nutrition is key to an effective workout program.
