This last week in September, I will define endurance workouts. Endurance is critical for overall fitness. I believe that to have a well-rounded level of fitness that you have to work on your endurance. It’s a good day to get outside and tune up your engine. Make sure you hold a constant pace and stay out there for the required time. With endurance, you can do long ones, greater than 90 minutes, or shorter ones which are 90 minutes or less. If you do a short endurance workout, make sure your heart rate stays below 65%, If it is above that percentage, then it is power endurance.
If you’re doing an endurance workout longer than 90 minutes, make sure you fuel up and that you’re well hydrated. In addition, make sure that you’re physically fit enough to do a 90-minute endurance workout. Usually, these types of workouts are sport specific. The longer the time, the slower the pace, the heart rate, and the power output.
