I have enjoyed posting my workouts and nutrition daily. As I noted yesterday, it has been very insightful even for me. Reviewing a journal of workouts and nutrition helps to track progress, and it helps to identify issues especially if you note how you felt that day in general and, specifically, with regard to your workout. For example, if on a single day you had little energy during a workout, the information you’ve collected will help you pinpoint any issues. In this example, the lack of energy can be caused by a lack of sleep, a lack of planning from a nutrition perspective for a heavy workout, and sometimes you may just feel lethargic for no identifiable reason. But overtime, you will be able identify problems and note trends. You will also be able to understand how your body reactions to certain issues.
Day 21, started with my intention to have a heavy workout at the Gym. However, because I’m preparing for a move my household, I ended up lifting heavy things in awkward sizes. I, therefore, gave up my plans and focused on correct form in lifting and moving the items that had to be moved. I am glad that my philosophy to working out is performing exercises that help me with functional movements and it gives me the strength that I can tap into when performing life’s every day tasks.
In planning your workouts, you need to be flexible and not married to your plans for a day. I recommend, when you’re having a day that will will serve you well from an exercise perspective, that you re-evaluate your workout plans for the day. For example, had I stuck with my plans for a heavy workout, my muscles may have been too stressed to safely perform the moving tasks I had to perform. The functional movements I performed yesterday, have left me sore in unexpected places, and this is an example of why you don’t need to do sit-ups to work your core. I am feeling it in my abs today from yesterday’s moving activities.
Yesterday, I was able to grab 90 minutes for the recovery that I knew I would need. I did easy cardio on my favorite machine — the Air Dyne — and was able to watch a movie while exercising any soreness out of my muscles.

Again, this will be my last posting for public consumption. I will be offering these posts and other items, such as daily workouts, a video library containing over 100 videos on how to properly perform various exercises, and a nutrition-page that will soon be up with the second release of the website, to members who wants such access to such content.
