Pat’s Workout/Nutrition – Day 19

I felt great after the recovery workout and massage on Day 18.  It was a perfect recovery day.  I planned one really good leg/breathing workout for Day 19, but everyone motivated me in the evening Level 3 class so I jumped in and had a second workout.  I love my Thursday night class.  The athletes are so motivated, it’s infectious.

Day 19

It is good to have a plan for workouts, but I always give myself the flexibility to take advantage of unexpected opportunities that present themselves.  When those opportunities appear, I make sure I change my plans to support those unexpected opportunities.  As such, I ate whatever I wanted and made sure I had big meals after each workout.  I might have to tweak what I had planned to do on Day 20, but I will listen to my body and modify my plans if needed.

Day 19 2

I hope you enjoy my workouts and meals.

Breakfast:
4 eggs and bacon
Protein smoothie
Fish oil

Snack 1:
Protein smoothie

Workout 1:
Warm up legs for what is to come
Then
30 cal airfit <40secs All out and hold on
2mins of “rest” complete 5x goblet squat 88#
x 10
Then
20min easy bike

This workout made my legs wobbly. I knew I was having a good workout because I wanted to quit half way and I didn’t know if I could make it. I always love these opportunities to mentally fight. I think it is always easier to fight and never quit rather than quit and have to feel horrible about it for the next two days. These workouts never get easier, but you learn how to tolerate the negative thoughts and pain. Fight back! It’s super rewarding.

Lunch:
Whole fat yogurt
Big ass sandwich on sour dough rye (loaded veggies, toasted cheese, extra bacon, extra chicken breast, mustard, oils)

Snack 2:
Apple almond butter

Snack 3:
Pistachios

Workout 2:  With the Level 3 Class
4-5 man person teams on slosh pipe
P1 slosh pipe 30mins
P2-P5 (800 total pull ups, 800 total perfect push ups)
Every time the slosh pipe is dropped, males 50 calories on the bike, females 400m ski

This was an interesting workout.  You really got crushed if someone on your team was horrible on the slosh pipe.  I love these team workouts because most people are willing to work harder when their friends are going to pay for their quitting.  This is one of the main reasons I love our Gym, and what motivated me to jump in with the crew.

Snack 4: Post workout
Choc whole milk with whey protein

Dinner:  Soon after the workout, but with enough time to digest it prior to going to bed.
Kale salad with pork and cheese
Thin crust sausage pizza
Mozzarella salad
Whole cream and berries, honey, nuts for dessert

Recovery:  Natural Calm and 8 hours sleep.
