Yesterday was Day 7 of 14. I am always amazed at how nutrition, when planned appropriately, really does impact a workout. This past week was a big week for me, but I planned all my fueling/nutrition very well. Because of the preparation, I felt the power and endurance during my workouts. Also, the appropriate nutrition helped me quickly recover.
Ocassionally, I will indulge some on Saturdays with my eating. I call them “cheat days.” That being said, remember the key is moderation. When you do indulge, moderation is critical. If you really want something don’t feel guilty for eating it. Eat it in moderation and only after you workout…..you should earn it.
So, today, I earned my cheat day Saturday. Here is my workout and my snacks/meals. Saturday is when I spend a substantial amount of time with my kids. When I’m with them, it can be hard to find time to workout. That being said, I think it is important to teach children how to live a heathy lifestyle by leading from the front. My kids love the gym, and so we spent a few hours having fun.

This was a strength day and something that will not make me sore. It was a good way to boost my testosterone and give me a nice hormonal response the rest of the day. When lifting strength don’t just go off of other people’s numbers. Learn why you are doing what you are doing and if you wanted to do this workout my max is around 420 right now so plan accordingly with percentages.
