Sunday’s are always a bit difficult for me. Even after a lifetime of working out, I truly enjoy it. Therefore, when I have to rest I have to be disciplined. My Sunday’s are usually my rest days — 100% rest. I use these days to eat extra food to prepare for the week ahead. Over the weekend, I also ensure I get at least 9 hours sleep per night. I fuel and rest up because I want to go into Monday as recovered and full of energy as possible. Sunday, I went out skating and sledding with the kids. It was nice to have new snow. I was hoping for more, but I appreciate what we got.

It is important to take days completely off from working out. This discipline will help protect your body and will help you with the intensity of future workouts. If you are very active and disciplined about working out, you should not feel bad about resting.
