Learn About The Connection Between Nutrition and Recovery!

dsc09569I always talk about recovery being a critical element of success for working out. Nutrition plays a big role in recovery. I firmly believe you can never workout too much, you can only recovery. Recovery is about repairing sore muscles, but it’s also about recovering faster, so you can train sooner and make gains faster. There are 6 elements of recovery that can be impacted by well-time and balanced nutrition. I’ve talked about many of these elements in past Knowledge posts, but I wanted to list them all here to ensure that you know on what you must focus. I will write more about each one of these elements in future Knowledge posts:
The key to future workouts and building muscles and having enough power for endurance, you must focus on muscle glycogen replenishment, muscle tissue repair and protein synthesis.
Working out is a form of stress and you need to ensure yo have the correct hormonal support. Stress raises cortisol levels which can impact hormone production and balance.
You must focus on soft-tissue repair which is crucial for the ongoing function of tendons, ligaments, and connective tissue.
Immune system support: Periods of heavy athletic training can impair the immune system response, so you must focus on immune system support.
Inflammation hinders muscle and joint functionality, so you need to focus on inflammation reduction.
Rehydration is critical…not only of water, but of electrolites.
