The August Monthly Challenge

This month’s challenge is a fun one, especially, for those individuals who are adventurous and like to try something new.

August’s Monthly Challenge is a tough one. It’s a way to show off your functional strength, and your mental toughness. It’s taking advantage of a new toy we’ve gotten at Pat’s Gym. Come try it and see what you can do!

This month’s challenge is for our athletes to do as many laps on the peg board as possible without touching their feet on the ground. Here are the rules:

  • You have to start on the third set of holes from the bottom with both pegs
  • You have to hit the top two holes with both pegs
  • If you can’t do a lap you have to hang for time and hands need to be below your head (45sec = 1 lap)
  • Most consecutive laps win without touching your feet on the ground

The July Monthly Challenge – The July Monthly challenge was a tough one, but incredibly rewarding. It was great fun, and really amazing to be competing with athletes from all around the world. The challenge was the BikeErg World Springs. It was a virtual indoor cycling championship modeled after the successful SkiErg World Sprints. The BikeErg World Springs took place between July 3 – 7, 2019. We had a great showing and placed respectably worldwide.

The winners of the Pat’s Gym July Monthly Challenge were Kate Maloney with a time of 6:57.2 (third overall in the world for females), and Robbie Earl with a time of 6:37.2. Great job!
