Thursday Night Level III Class

Thursday night class is always a great class to teach and attend.  The athletes who attend that class are very talented, driven and understand healthy team dynamics.  I love teaching the class and, like to jump in and join them.  Their energy is really infectious.

Before the class started, I did a 30min warm up on the SkiErg to test some numbers out before class.  For this class, we had a great group and everyone held each other accountable.  If someone missed a number, they were called out our immediately and did their penalty.

This video shows how intense the workout is, and how passionate the athletes are:

Warm up
Then
30sec ski 90sec “rest” perform 10 burpees during rest
Males start at 150m
Females start at 120m
30 sets and increase meters each round 16-30
If you can’t increase meters there is a penalty

I love the 30/90 formats on the SkiErg.  It teaches you how to be efficient with recovery, pay attention to numbers when you are tired, and focus on form.  When the numbers don’t give you positive feedback you have two choices … fight or throw in the towel.  The more you quit, the easier it is to quit the next time.  The more you fight and overcome, the more you create habits to push through the next time.  The nice part about the SkiErg is that numbers don’t lie.  You either hit them or you don’t.  Everyone got what they deserved and it was a blast to suffer with others.
