Guacamole has many health benefits. It is great for your immune system; Specifically, avocados have a lot of vitamin E that gets rid of free radicals. It also is a good source of vitamin C. It is great for your heart and high in fiber. Fiber keeps cholesterol from building up in your arteries, which reduces your risk of heart disease. It also helps with digestion. It also contains healthy fats, which keep you full, and it is impossible to get fat from this type of fat. We eat this guacamole recipe at least once a week and you never have to feel guilty about eating it. If you really want to feel good about yourself use vegetables like celery, cucumbers, and carrots for dipping. If you want to indulge a little use an organic healthy chip option. We love sweet potato chips. Enjoy the recipe and video and give it a try.

Guacamole Recipe

Ingredients:
6 avocados – mashed (but not too fine)
4 roma medium tomatoes – chopped
1 cup diced onions
2 teaspoons minced garlic
6 tablespoons of cilantro, amount should depend upon your preference
1 teaspoon salt
1 lemon – juiced

cayenne pepper, optional if you like a bit of heat

Peel the avocados and mash them up. Add chopped roma tomatoes, and mix in the rest of the ingredients. Add a teaspoon of cayenne pepper if you like a bit of spice/heat. Serve with veggie sticks or a healthy type of chip. For veggie sticks we like bell peppers, celery or carrot sticks. Enjoy! You can serve chilled, but chilling the guacamole will cause it to turn brown on top.
