Wheatgrass: is my go-to workout drink supplement!

dsc09117The literature on wheatgrass is mixed. The scientific evidence is light, but I tell you that I can tell the difference when I take it or don’t. I take the powdered form daily, and drink it as part of my smoothie mixture.

Wheatgrass has many great nutrients. It contains vitamins A, C and E. In addition, it contains iron, magnesium and amino acids. It contains about the same amount of vitamins and nutrients as 2 – 3 daily serving of vegetables.

Wheatgrass is used for increasing production of hemoglobin, the chemical in red blood cells that carries oxygen. Wheatgrass also improves blood sugar disorders such as diabetes. It also helps to heal wounds and prevents bacterial infections. It is widely used to remove deposits of drugs, heavy metals, and cancer-causing agents from the body, and helps to remove for toxins from the liver and blood.

I find that if I take wheatgrass I am less sore. It is known for its anti-inflammatory impacts and antioxidants. I also find that my immune system is more effective if I take wheatgrass.

Again, the science behind it is not there yet. But, you have to go with your own experience. I don’t go a day without it.
