July 2019 Newsletter

Summer is always a month for inspiration. It’s a great month to see friends and family – which is inspiring. It’s a season to achieve fitness goals, and it’s a month to be inspired with the results. It’s not too late to start, and it will help set you up for a successful fall/winter. Yes, we’re already talking about preparation for the colder months. M

There is more fun in the Gym! Come see what it’s all about – At Pat’s Gym we will be doing a bit of renovating, which will mean more toys, more space and a whole lot more fun. At Pat’s Gym, we believe in minimal distractions but using the space we have effectively. We will be putting in toys that you’ve seen me use in various locations. Let’s see if you can guess what we will be doing/renovating, and what equipment we will be adding. Our new Kevlar balls have been greeted with a lot of enthusiasm, and we know that the new equipment will elicit a similar reaction. Come join us and see the changes.

Pat’s Gym is excited to introduce our new coach Damion Figueroa. Damion is an experienced athlete whose passion is fitness. At the age of 4, Damion started wrestling and continued participating in athletics through high school. He participated in football, baseball, and wrestling while attending high school in La Crosse, WI. When playing football, Damion’s coach said that “if you want to play on the Varsity team you need to be in the gym working out.” Damion took those words to heart, as he played on the Varsity Team. Damion continued working out through his college days, and that started a trend in his life.

After high school Damion continued to work out regularly, and eventually began training for a bodybuilding show. In 2015, Damion competed in the Mr. Natural Minnesota Bodybuilding competition where he placed 1st in his class in the Novice division and 2nd in his class in the overall division.

Currently, Damion’s goals are to deadlift 2.5x his bodyweight and row 2,000m under 6:50. Damion’s current career goal is to help 10 people by June 1, 2020, reach their fitness goals. Whether that’s weight loss, or a performance goal, Damion wants to help those people accomplish their personal fitness goals.

Damion became a coach at Pat’s Gym because he wanted to take his fitness to a higher level. Pat has worked with Damion to improve his fitness level, and his knowledge base. Damion got started in coaching when some of his friends saw Damion’s own personal transformation and wanted to know more about what Damion was doing. Damion’s career in coaching started at that point in college. Damion is NASM Personal Training Certified, NASM Fitness Nutrition Specialist Certified, and 1stPhorm Level 1 Supplement Certified.

When Damion is not in the gym, you can find Damion traveling the world during his free time. Damion recently visited Banff National Park in Canada which is one of his favorite destinations. Damion loves ice cream and is a huge Packers fan. Damion also enjoys watching all other Wisconsin sports teams.

Meet this week’s athlete of the Month – Jason

Jason had worked with trainers at various gyms, and tried CrossFit, but he was looking for something that worked with his schedule. He also wanted to be challenged and wanted something that would help him gain muscle and strength. In addition, Jason was training and fit, but had no muscles, abs or definition. Muscle gain and strength were the goal.

Jason has been working with Pat Gilles through Online Coaching for the past 5 months. Jason works out 6 days a week and may have missed only 3 workouts during that time.

Jason’s family has a history of heart issues and other diseases. Jason has asthma and wants to be as fit as possible. In addition, Jason has been a cyclist for the past 10 years, and he focused mainly on cycling and as a goal. As Jason turns older, he wants to be a great shape.

Jason loves working with Pat through Online Personalized Coaching. Jason loves looking at his workouts for the week when they are released. Jason also likes the fact that workouts can be done on his time, meaning that he can go to the gym when he wants and leave when he wants.

Jason loves the fact that the workouts are well thought out. They workouts are tough and build one upon the other. Jason has come a long way in the past 5 months.

Jason also is amazed that Pat is always available if he has a question. Jason loves the fact that when he hits the gym, he is never looking at his watch. At previous gyms, with previous trainers, Jason was always looking at his watch waiting for the workouts to end. With Pat’s workouts, Jason goes through each exercise and the time just flies. Jason is amazed that he can be pushed as hard as he can with Pat through Online Personalized Coaching.

Jason is surprised that he came to Pat looking to build muscle; however, what he has found is more energy, no sickness (there has been no sickness in the past year, clarity, discipline and confidence. Even his cycling has improved. Online Personalized Coaching has been a real game changer.

Pat Gilles’s workouts are the most well thought out and challenging workouts that Jason has ever done. They are difficult workouts, but you will see changes in your life and fitness level. You will be surprised at the results. I plan on continuing Online Personalized coaching forever. This is not a 60- or 90-day fad. Online Personalized Coaching is a program that Jason says he will do “forever.” If you make the commitment of Online Personalized Coaching, you will feel and see the difference…. for the rest of your life.
